光明区，位于深圳市西北部，东至观澜、西接松岗、南抵石岩、北与东莞市接壤。光明区前身光明新区成立于2007年8月，是深圳市设立的第一个功能新区。2018年5月，国务院同意设立深圳市光明区，下辖光明、公明、新湖、凤凰、玉塘、马田6个街道，辖区总面积156.1平方公里，区人民政府驻光明街道广场路1号，2018年末常住人口62.50万人。

光明区是一个生态型高新技术产业新城，位于广深港发展中轴，是广深科技创新走廊的重要节点，也是粤港澳大湾区核心区域之一，拥有亚洲最大的养鸽基地、国内最大的鲜奶出口基地、广东最大的西式肉制品生产基地。2018年，光明区实现地区生产总值920.59亿元，同比增长7.3%；居民人均可支配收入47222.22元，同比增长7.6%。光明区地形地貌属于低山丘陵滨海区，背山面海、岗峦起伏，区内水域广阔，青山环绕。地势东北高西南低。光明区属亚热带海洋性气候，气候温和。

光明区距离宝安国际机场、蛇口港区和大铲湾港区约25分钟车程，正在运营的广深港铁路客运专线在境内设立城际客运站—光明城站，规划中的深圳轨道交通6号线直达光明区，6号线支线建成后将打通深圳、东莞两市轨道交通网，促进深莞一体化发展，推动深圳北部发展轴及其重点地区建设，对光明区未来发展具有重要意义。龙大高速公路横贯东西，并与南光高速、机荷高速公路、梅观高速公路、广深高速公路相连，与福田中心区、东莞等珠三角主要城市中心形成便捷高效的“半小时生活圈”。

光明区內著名观光景点有光明农场大观园旅游区，红花山公园和回归亭。光明农场大观园旅游区是光明区第一个国家AAAA级旅游景区，共40多项旅游项目。 红花山公园地处光明区松白公路的北端，一高一低的山脊相连，两座山头上分别建有两座大小不一的休闲亭。回归亭位于光明农场大博山上，是1997年夏由深港渔农界为庆祝香港回归祖国捐资兴建，由香港特别行政区第一任行政长官董建华先生题写亭名。回归亭为重六角亭，亭高30米。

Guangming

Guangming District is located in the northwestern part of Shenzhen City, with Guanlan in the east, Songgang in the west, Shiyan in the south, and Dongguan in the north. Its origin Guangming New District was established in August 2007 as the first new functional district of Shenzhen City. In May 2018, the State Council agreed to establish the Guangming District in Shenzhen City, which covers 6 streets: Guangming, Gongming, Xinhu, Fenghuang, Yutang, and Matian, with a total area of 156.1 sq. km. At the end of 2018, the resident population was 625,000.

Guangming District, an ecological high-tech industrial new city, is located in the central part of Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong development zone. It plays an important role in the Guangzhou-Shenzhen science and technology innovation. Besides, it is one of the core regions of the Guangzhou-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area, being the largest pigeon raising base in Asia, the largest fresh milk export base in China, and the largest western-style meat production base in Guangdong. In 2018, Guangming District realized a regional GDP of 92.059 billion yuan, an increase of 7.3% year-on-year. The per capita disposable income of residents was 47,222.22 yuan, an increase of 7.6% year-on-year. Geographically, it is a low-lying hilly coastal area, with mountains, valleys and rivers. The water area is vast and surrounded by green mountains. The terrain is high in the northeast and low in the southwest. Guangming District has a subtropical mild marine climate.

Transportation Facilities

Guangming District is approximately 25 minutes away from Bao'an International Airport, Shekou Port Area and Da Chan Bay Port Area by car. The Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Railway Passenger Line is currently operating to set up an intercity passenger station—Guangming City Station. The Shenzhen Rail Transit Line No. 6, which is under planning, runs directly to Guangming District. After completion, the line will open the rail transit network of Shenzhen and Dongguan, promoting the integrated development of both areas, and the development of northern Shenzhen and its key areas, which is of great significance to the future development of Guangming District. Longda Expressway runs through its east and west, and is connected to Nanguang Expressway, Jihe Expressway, Meiguan Expressway, and Guangzhou-Shenzhen Expressway. It forms a convenient and efficient "half-hour living circle" with major urban centers in the Pearl River Delta, such as Futian Central District and Dongguan.

Educational Resources

As of the end of 2017, there were 107 schools in Guangming District, an increase of 3.9% over the previous year. Among them, there were 2 secondary vocational schools, 17 ordinary middle schools, 14 primary schools, and 74 kindergartens. Students in school amounted to 95,994, an increase of 6.8%. At the end of the year, there were 8,448 faculty members in various schools, including 5,876 full-time teachers. On 12 June 2018, as one of Shenzhen's important projects to promote the construction of high-level universities, Sun Yat-sen University · Shenzhen (Sun Yat-sen University Shenzhen Campus), which is located in the District, officially started construction. It is expected to be completed in 2021 and will accommodate more than 20,000 students.

Tourist Attractions

The famous sightseeing spots in Guangming District include the Guangming Farm Grandview Garden Tourist Area, Honghuashan Park and the Return Pavilion. Guangming Farm Grandview Garden Tourist Area is the first national 4A-level tourist attraction in the District, with more than 40 tourism projects. Honghuashan Park is located at the northern end of Songbai Highway. High and low ridges are connected, and two leisure kiosks of different sizes are built on the two hills. The Return Kiosk is located on Mount Dabo in Guangming Farm. It was built in the summer of 1997 by the Shenzhen-Hong Kong fishing and farming community to celebrate Hong Kong's return to the mainland. The kiosk is a heavy hexagonal kiosk with a height of 30 meters.
